Tribute and "Celebration of Life" for Eunice (Augusta) Wearing Spears (Shannon's grandmother): Just 17 days before her passing, Shannon read the following poem to her grandmother as she lay on her sick bed. Afterwards, her faint, but heartfelt, response was, "That was beautiful, Baby".

Souls Won Ministries is a local gospel recording and singing group consisting of a multi-piece band, several vocalists, and husband and wife team, Pastors Kenneth and Shannon Watkins (a couple that began ministry together in 1996). The Watkins' many roles included (until January, 2005) being ministers of music at the Ebenezer Full Gospel Baptist Church, Cumberland, MD., where Pastors John B., Sr., and Evangelist Earline McIntyre officiated. God has designed a new plan and direction for the ministry. It is an outreach ministry which will concentrate on the youth in the local area (i.e., SOULS WN 's Hip-Hop Dancers, etc.), and other needs of the community. This endeavor was sealed on March 6, 2005 when Kenny and Shannon were elevated to a new level, an inevitable event which had been previously God-ordained, and honored with confirmation from numerous pastors, ministers, and associates. After recognizing their call and the life-changing ministry God had entrusted to them, and after much fasting, prayer, and confirmation of their own, two very special people, Bishop Henry and Prophetess Sybrina Hines (from Repairer of the Breach Ministries, Trenton N.J.) proudly presented the couple officially as the overseers of the new, SOULS WN OUTREACH MINISTRIES (complete with official pastoral certification for Kenny and Shannon both), during a ceremony which was included as part of a special dedication service. It was a glorious occasion! To add to this great, new level in ministry, by the request of Pastor Michael, Jr., and Amanda Stottlemyer, of Message of Freedom Ministries in Clarksburg, W.V. (SOULS WN OUTREACH MINISTRIES' ministerial covering), the couple was very blessed to have been ordained by officials from the Anchor Bay Evangelistic Association (ABEA) on May 11, 2005. This, too, was most glorious as well!

SOULS WN MINISTRIES, a multi-denominational, multi-racial ministry, uses a combination of contemporary, traditional, and praise and worship music. The ministry's most recent achievements include traveling to Europe to visit Zurich, Switzerland on a mission trip in late 2003, and completing a CD single entitled, "Don't You Give Up," which includes the title song, and three other arrangements.

The group's rich vocal stylings and uplifting lyrics have made them a local favorite, and have garnered them accolades in regional gospel music circles, including: Canal Fest, the "Magnify the Lord" television broadcast, and various radio stations (He's Alive Radio, Grantsville, MD.; WBGR, Baltimore, MD.; WJTM, Frederick, MD.; and WMCE, Erie, PA.).

The group also ministers at festivals, conferences, and college and church events, and loves to travel to fellowship whenever possible. Some areas the group has visited include Pennsylvania, Delaware, various parts of Maryland, and Washington, D.C., and its metropolitan areas.

It is our belief that God has called us together for a significant purpose -- to minister to others about the goodness of Jesus Christ through edified music and praise so that souls might be saved. We further believe that it is because of God's grace, mercy, and predetermined will that we are who we are and where we are today -- victorious souls, winning more souls for Christ.
